SMRT is launching a JV firm with Cyclect Electrical, PSL has raised funds in a private placement and Asiamedic is discussing an M&amp;A deal.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">SMRT, Cyclect Electrical in JV</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/SMRT" target="_blank">SMRT Corporation’s</a> wholly owned subsidiary SMRT Services has established a joint venture (JV) company with <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.cyclect.com.sg/" target="_blank">Cyclect Electrical Engineering</a>, a Singapore-based corporation serving the building, industrial plant, marine and offshore, logistics and transport segments.
The JV, SMRT-Cyclect Power, will provide electrical systems for land transportation and supply its solutions to rail systems like Singapore&#8217;s Mass Rapid Transit Systems and the Light Rail Transit system.
SMRT Services will subscribe to 60 per cent of the JV at a cash consideration of S$600,000 that will be internally funded. The target geographies of the business include Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand. There is also potential to cover Africa, China and India.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">PSL raises S$2.96m in private placement</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://pslgroup.com.sg" target="_blank">PSL Holdings</a>  has entered into a private subscription agreement with three investors for the issuance of 7,734,000 new shares to raise S$2.96 million at an issue price of 38.25 cents per share.
This represents a discount of 10 per cent to the volume weighted average price (VWAP) of 42.5 cents for trades done on its company’s shares, according to PSL in an official statement.
According to PSL, the company will use 80 per cent of the net proceeds to finance growth and expansion, with the remaining 20 per cent deployed for working capital purposes.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Asiamedic discussing M&amp;A</h3>
Health screening and wellness firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.asiamedic.com.sg/" target="_blank">Asiamedic </a>is currently discussing “prospective business opportunities including mergers and acquisitions.”
The firm informed <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/sgx" target="_blank">Singapore Exchange (SGX)</a> in response to a query unusual trading activity on Wednesday.
Shares of Asiamedic traded at an intraday high of 10.6 cents, 51 per cent higher than its Tuesday close of 7 cents. It eventually closed at 9.1 cents with 27.5 million shares traded.
According to Asiamedic, these discussions have no assurance of resulting in any definitive agreements and had advised its shareholders to be cautious with regards to trading its shares. The company explained it has been actively exploring business expansion opportunities and taking measures to boost its growth and shareholder value.
