ASX-listed <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=8I+Holdings">8I Holdings Limited (8IH)</a> has secured a 68 per cent controlling stake in <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Rang+Dao" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Shanghai Rong Dao Culture Communication Co Ltd (Rang Dao)</a>.
As an investment holding company, 8IH focuses on financial education and investment in public markets and private markets.
8IH announced on Friday (June 30) that its has completed the said acquisition of Rong Dao through its subsidiary <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=8IH+Shanghai" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">8IH China (Shanghai) Co Ltd</a> for up to $86,835 (RMB588,704).
Founded by Zhou Guiyin in 2016, Rong Dao is a value investing promoter and educator in China. Zhou graduated from Shandong University of finance and economics with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in business administration from Shanghai University of finance and economics.
&#8220;The acquisition of Rong Dao will provide the company with access to local investment communities and a customised range of value investing programmes on offer,&#8221; 8IH said in its statement.
Zhou will later on head 8IH Shanghai’s programme development and value investing training in China, which will be restructured as fundamental, intermediate, advanced, and trainer&#8217;s value investing programmes.
Upon completion of the acquisition, 8IH Shanghai, Rong Dao and their intermediary holding company 8IH China Pte Ltd, will be consolidated under the Private Markets Investment reporting segment.
&#8220;This is in line with the company’s strategic plans and direction as we nurture and grow the business before unlocking its value at a later stage,&#8221; said 8IH private markets investment head Low Ming Li.
