<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/grabjobs">GrabJobs</a>, a Singapore-based job-matching platform, has raised an additional S$930,000 ($681,000) as part of its seed round, bringing the total sum raised to over S$2.5 million ($1.83 million), the startup said on Wednesday.
The startup had earlier planned to raise S$5 million in a Series A round in 2018 but it decided to defer the fundraising. GrabJobs CEO and co-founder Emmanuel Crouy told DEALSTREETASIA, “We realised it was still a bit early for us to raise Series A and we decided to focus on growing our existing markets rather than expand to new ones so we decided to raise less and postpone [our] Series A.”
He added that the additional pre-Series A sum raised would enable the company to become cash flow positive by April 2019. The startup would look at raising its Series A at that stage.
The latest proceeds will be used for further product development and refinement for GrabJobs&#8217; platform. It plans to integrate natural language processing and machine learning technologies into its interview chatbot in partnership with Erik Cambria, Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence at Nanyang Technological University.
“In 2019, we will also be expanding outside of our current markets in Southeast Asia by partnering with regional job sites to provide our services to recruiters in the region,” said Crouy.
GrabJobs, founded in 2015, is a recruitment solution that helps companies automate sourcing, screening and interviewing of candidates.
It claims over 5,000 companies, growing from 3,000 companies in early 2018, have used the app. Currently, it has 25 employees in its Singapore headquarters and offices in the Philippines and Myanmar.
