In Singapore today, BreadTalk is issuing S$75 million of its bonds, while Ezra has redeemed all notes on their scheduled maturity date.
<h3>BreadTalk issues S$75 million bonds</h3>
Singapore-based listed bakery <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/breadtalk-group" target="_blank">BreadTalk Group Limited</a> has issued S$75 million of its bonds, priced at the original principal amount, with an interest of 4.6 per cent per annum.
The bonds are expected to be issued on 1 April 2016, listed the next trading day, and will mature on 1 April 2019, according to a filing.
The same filing noted that net proceeds from the issuance, after deducting issue expenses, will be used by subsidiaries within BreadTalk Group Limited for general corporate purposes, which include refinancing of existing borrowings, and financing capital expenditure and general working capital of the Group.
The bonds are part of BreadTalk Group Limited&#8217;s S$250 million multi-currency medium-term note programme, which was <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://breadtalk.listedcompany.com/newsroom/20140507_174436_5DA_5CVAYLEL30SHHWK0.1.pdf" target="_blank">announced</a> in May 2014.
<h3>Ezra redeems S$95 million in bonds through S$100 million bank loan</h3>
Singapore-based offshore marine services firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/ezra-holdings" target="_blank">Ezra Holdings</a> has fully redeemed S$95 million in fixed-rate notes through a secured bank loan of S$100 million.
The bank loan was obtained through share pledges over the entire issued share capital of Emas Offshore Ltd and Triyards Holdings, which are both owned by the firm, according to a <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-markets/ezra-fully-redeems-s95m-bonds-with-secured-loan" target="_blank">report</a>.
In order to secure this loan, Ezra Holdings had to agree to non-independent chairman Lee Kian Soo and group CEO Lionel Lee Chye Tek owning no less than 20 per cent of the company, whether directly or indirectly.
