Singapore has committed to invest up to $2.1 billion across various sectors &#8211; including property, agriculture and plantation sectors &#8211; in Indonesia this year.
This was revealed by the Indonesian <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.bkpm.go.id/">Investment Coordinating Board</a> (BKPM) in a recent statement.
According to BKPM, this investment interest was conveyed during the Singapore Investment Forum held by the BKPM Representative Office in Singapore on March 3 in cooperation with the <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Singapore+Business+Federation+%28SBF%29">Singapore Business Federation (SBF)</a> and the <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=kadin">Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin)</a>
“Based on BKPM investment marketing identification, the investment interest consists of $200 million worth of investment in the property sector, $1.5 billion worth of investment in the agriculture sector, $10 million of investment in plantation, $100 million of investment in industrial zones, and $300 million worth of investment in information technology infrastructures,” said BKPM head Franky Sibarani.

He added that his office has made Singapore a priority country for BKPM’s special investment marketing initiative in Southeast Asia. The initiative is a bid to boost ASEAN investment realisation for Indonesia.
Data from the BKPM revealed that Singapore had realised $5.9 billion worth of investment in 2015 with 3,012 projects. In addition, Singapore’s investment commitment had increase by 68 per cent to $16.3 billion in the same year, which is expected to be realised.
Meanwhile, investors from the UK and the Netherlands have expressed interest to invest in Indonesia with a value of $370 million. They are targeting to invest in the field of solar power plants that will take place in several locations across Indonesia, especially in the eastern parts of Indonesia.
The Indonesian official at the Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) London, Nurul Ichwan said that the Dutch investors are also interested in investing in the field of waste to energy and plan to support the concept of smart city in Indonesia.
&#8220;They have the capacity in technology and have experience in the development of waste to energy infrastructure in the border region of Germany and the Netherlands,&#8221; he said.
According to the officials, BKPM’s Representative Office in London has not only been facilitating potential investors from UK and other parts of Europe, it has been trying actively to link the potential investors with potential local partners &#8211; both for the private companies and the state owned electricity companies like  <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.pln.co.id/eng/">PT Perusahaan Listrik Indonesia</a> (PLN).
Meanwhile, Australia investors have plans to invest in maritime sector in Indonesia with planned investment of $172 million this year. while the US&#8217;s investors are more focussed on the sectors of creative economy, cold storage and health services with an investment interest of about  $20 million.
