SGX-listed investment holding company Sino Grandness Food Industry Group has submitted an application for its wholly owned subsidiary Garden Fresh Holding Co., Ltd to be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (SEHK).
Garden Fresh is said to be the second largest producer of Asian specialty juices, the fifth producer of fruit and vegetable juices in China, and the largest loquat juice producer, in terms of total retail sales value, said a report by Euromonitor.
Originally a canned food exporter to Europe, Sino Grandness is looking to use Singapore as a way to expand into Southeast Asia. It has plans to export its products, including loquat juices, and canned fruit and vegetables, to Singapore in the second half of 2016, and exporting it to Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand through the city-state.
However, China still remains its main market for distribution of juices, and canned fruits and vegetables.
Earlier this year, the holding company also set up a separate subsidiary, Garden Fresh Beverage Group, to operate as another investment holding firm.
