The corporate advisory arm of mainboard-listed restaurant chain <a href="http://www.sakaeholdings.com/Pages/index.html">Sakae Holdings</a> has bagged its first client.
Its corporate advisory business, which it recently unveiled in partnership with  India-listed corporate finance company <a href="http://www.religarecm.com/">Religare Capital Markets Corporate Finance</a>, and is aimed at bringing entities from across the globe to undertake dual listings in Singapore, is beginning to bear fruit.
The Sakae-Religare tie-up has now got <a href="http://www.snowbird-ag.com/en/home.html">Snowbird AG</a> to undertake a dual listing in Singapore.
Snowbird is a China-based manufacturer of clothing and bedding products using down feathers, and the company had listed on the Prime Standard board of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange through an IPO in September last year.
&#8220;We are pleasantly surprised that our tie-up with Religare Capital Markets has borne fruit so quickly. The proposed secondary listing by Snowbird &#8211; which is listed on the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange &#8211; validates the foresight of Singapore Exchange in streamlining the secondary listing regime for companies already listed in developed markets,&#8221; said Douglas Foo, founder and executive chairman of Sakae Holdings, in a statement.
&#8220;Other foreign companies have also expressed keen interest to explore Singapore as a listing location and we are confident that, if we can make Snowbird a successful case study, there will be others that will follow suit,” Foo’s statement added.
Last week, Sakae Holdings, known for its chain of Sushi restaurants in Singapore and nine other countries, had announced a $250 million opportunistic fund to invest in both public and private opportunities. The company said the progress of its corporate advisory business was behind its move to further diversify its business and set up this fund.
