<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=softbank+venture+korea">SoftBank Ventures Korea</a> has led a $9.15-million (10.3 billion won) funding round in <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=bepro11">Bepro11</a>, a Seoul-based sports video and data analytics startup.
SoftBank Ventures Korea itself invested 6 billion won ($5.33 million) and other investors including <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Altos+Ventures">Altos Ventures</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=KT+Investment">KT Investment</a> joined the round.
According to The Investor’s report on Thursday, Kang Hyun-wook, founder and CEO of Bepro11, said that it would spend the latest proceeds on its expansion into the United States and Europe focusing in Germany, UK and France.
Founded in 2015, Bepro11 aims to connect sports players and revolutionize the sports industry, particularly soccer, by helping players to improve their performance with its accumulated videos and data.
It equips each club’s stadium with a fixed camera system to automatically film matches and training sessions. Then, videos are categorized into specific actions such as shots, passes or take-ons from which in-depth statistics is derived.
Bepro11 currently has offices in Seoul and Hamburg and its system is adopted by 120 clubs in seven countries.
On Wednesday, Vietnam&#8217;s C2C marketplace Sendo announced it raised $51 million in series B from investors including SoftBank Ventures Korea.
