UK-­based tech security solutions company Sophos is planning to expand operations of its Phillipines­-based 24/7 Shared Services Center (SSC) as well as expanding to other geographies in the region.
&#8220;We aim to double the number of employees in our Philippines operation in the next six months,&#8221; said Wana Tun, regional technical sales manager of Sophos Asia.
Located at the 33­storey office glass tower of Zuellig building in Makati City, the Sophos Philippines SSC now has over 50 Filipino employees as support engineers and customer care specialists
The local office was launched in November 2013 to provide 24/7 services, complementing existing support centers in Australia, France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States. Sophos recently reported it already reached 17,000 customers worldwide.
&#8220;We wanted to expand our operations here in the Philippines because of the available talent that can support our 24/7 operations,&#8221; Tun said, adding: &#8220;We&#8217;re also looking to expand in the region.&#8221;
The executive, who holds office at Sophos headquarters in Singapore, is currently in the Philippines to meet with local partners and distributors to share updates about the Sophos SG Series firewall/UTM appliances, WiFi access points, and availability of the company&#8217;s new dedicated virtual reporting appliance called Sophos iView.
