Singapore state investment firm Temasek’s management arm Temasek International (TI) on Monday announced several key appointments.

Its CEO Lee Theng Kiat will now take on the additional role of Deputy Chairman. Temasek International chairman Ho Ching, who is also the CEO of parent group Temasek Holdings, will continue in these positions.

TI has also appointed Dilhan Pillay as its Deputy CEO, Chia Song Hwee as President & COO, and Tan Chong Lee as President, a Temasek statement said.

On Monday, Fullerton Fund Management, the asset management arm of Temasek Holdings, also announced the appointment of Jenny Sofian as CEO, a role she will be taking from November 1. She joins from Amundi Singapore where she served as the CEO and Head of South Asia.

Temasek says new appointments aimed at building agility

“As our organisation and the operating environment evolve, the need to operate with agility, alignment and accountability has never been more important. It is critical for us to build a strong culture of ownership within our firm and our people,” Lee said in a media statement issued on Monday.

Temasek International was formed in 2011 as the wholly owned management arm of the investment firm to manage and build capabilities in anticipation of a growing and increasingly global portfolio.

The executives will hold these new positions in addition to their current roles at Temasek International. Pillay is currently Joint Head of the Enterprise Development Group, the Investment Group and for Singapore, in addition to being the head for Americas. Song Hwee is Joint Head of both the Investment Group and Portfolio Management Group as well as for Singapore. Chong Lee is the Joint Head of Portfolio Management Group and heads Europe as well as South East Asia at Temasek International.

Having joined Temasek in 2011, Theng Kiat previously served as the President and CEO of ST Telemedia and held various senior positions in Singapore Technologies Pte Ltd (ST). Theng Kiat had served in the Singapore Legal Services for over eight years before joining ST.

Dilhan joined Temasek in September 2010. Prior to Temasek, he was a Managing Partner at WongPartnership LLP. He has over 20 years of experience in the legal industry with main focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general corporate law.

The other two executives, Song Hwee and Chong Lee, joined Temasek in October 2011. Song Hwee was the Chief Operating Officer at GLOBALFOUNDRIES which later merged with Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, while Chong Lee was the Country Executive of South East Asia and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking, South East Asia at Bank of America Merrill Lynch before he joined Temasek.
