On the back of a positive demand, Temasek Holdings&#8217; has scaled up the issue size of its first public offer of five-year Singapore dollar bonds by S$100 million ($72.5 million) to S$500 million ($362 million).
In an announcement on Wednesday, Temasek said, allocations were completed for the bond after demand for both the public offer and the placement was robust, amounting in aggregate to about S$3 billion.
&#8220;In view of the strong demand from retail investors, the issuer and Temasek have decided to exercise the upsize option to increase the issue size by S$100 million for the public offer. This is to enable all valid applications under the public offer to receive some allocation,&#8221; it said.
All applicants who applied for S$6,000 and below received full allocations and about 70 per cent of bonds were allocated to applicants who applied for S$30,000 or less. The bonds expected to start trading on SGX-ST on Friday 26 October 2018.
Last week, Temasek had launched its first public bond offer through its wholly-owned subsidiary Temasek Financial (IV) Private Limited. The offering was for up to S$400 million ($291 million) in aggregate principal amount. Tye bonds bear a fixed interest rate of 2.7 per cent per annum over 5 years, till maturity in 2023.
It included up to S$200 million to retail investors and another S$200 million ($146 million) to institutional, accredited, and other specified investors. There was an option to increase the issue size to $500 million.based on demand.
