Buyout opportunities are picking up in China, where a maturing private equity ecosystem and sizeable companies, coupled with reforms in the debt markets are spurring deals, says Melissa Ma, co-founder and managing partner of fund-of-funds Asia Alternatives Management.
“If you look at the top Chinese companies today, they are among the largest in the world. Once you get to that, what do you need in order to continue your growth? Buyout [-related transactions], cross-border M&A,” Ma said in an interview with DealStreetAsia.
