<article><a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/tpg-growth" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TPG Growth</a>, the middle market and growth equity platform of alternative asset firm <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/tpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TPG</a>, has reached the final close of its fourth fund, TPG Growth IV, with $3.7 billion in commitments.</article>

<a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/tpg-growth" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TPG Growth</a>, the middle market and growth equity platform of alternative asset firm <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/tpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TPG</a>, has reached the final close of its fourth fund, TPG Growth IV, with $3.7 billion in commitments.
According to an official statement, the fund achieved its hard cap on LP commitments in four months. This latest fund is larger than the $3 billion pool it had raised for its third fund in 2015.
With the closure of this latest fund, TPG Growth now manages more than $13 billion in assets across geographies. Its portfolio of current and past investments include <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/airbnb" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Airbnb</a>, Beautycounter, C3 IoT, Schiff Nutrition, Spotify, SuccessFactors, SurveyMonkey, and <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/uber" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Uber</a>.
Earlier this year, the platform announced that <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/rise-fund" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Rise Fund</a>—a global social impact fund co-founded by Bill McGlashan, Bono, and Jeff Skoll and managed by TPG Growth—closed at $2.1 billion in commitments.
The Rise Fund, which has India as one of its priority markets, has made seven investments since its launch this year and is considered the largest private impact fund ever raised. In May, the fund invested $50 million in Hyderabad-based <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/dodla-dairy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dodla Dairy</a>, its first investment in India. The fund has also partnered with impact investor <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/elevar-equity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elevar Equity</a> and will work closely with the latter’s team in India.
TPG, which has been investing in India since 2002, has made most of its investments in the country through TPG Growth, including in online eyewear platform Lenskart and surgical equipment maker Healthium Medtech, among others.
