In a series of tweets late on Tuesday, Singh announced his resignation, and said that Balaji Krish, Twitter&#8217;s global head of revenue strategy and operations, is relocating from the US to take over as the interim country head.
&#8220;Hello everyone, after 4 amazing years, I have decided to move on from @TwitterIndia &#8211; from being one of the first @Twitter employees in #India, to building up the sales team from the ground up, to leading our expansion and investments as the India Country Director #AmazingRide,&#8221; Singh tweeted.
&#8220;ll spend the next month transitioning my country duties to colleague and friend @BalajiKrish, our global head of revenue strategy and operations. He&#8217;s coming from the US to be interim country lead until my replacement is hired. We&#8217;ll ensure that @Twitter won&#8217;t miss a beat here,&#8221; he tweeted.
Singh was leading the Twitter India team by driving an integrated business strategy and spearheading cross-functional collaboration to accelerate Twitter’s audience and revenue growth in India, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Prior to being elevated to the position of country head, Singh was leading the charge for sales and marketing support for the microblogging site&#8217;s advertisers in India. Before joining Twitter in January 2015, Singh was sales director, South Asia for BBC Advertising. Prior to the BBC, he held various positions at Outlook Publishing.

Singh&#8217;s departure comes at a time when Facebook has been actively scouting country head for almost a year now.
