To further boost its global mergers &amp; acquisitions practice especially in Asia, US-based international law firm <a style="color: #333399;" href="http://www.whitecase.com" target="_blank">White &amp; Case</a> has hired Chris Kelly to lead the company&#8217;s corporate practice in Asia.
Kelly will head White &amp; Case&#8217;s Hong Kong office. He joins from Linklaters, where he was head of Private Equity in Asia, and brings more than 25 years of experience, including 12 years in Asia.
Eric Berg, head of White &amp; Case in Asia, said Kelly&#8217;s arrival reflects the firm&#8217;s ambition to continue strengthening both its M&amp;A and private equity capabilities across the region.
&#8220;The wealth of experience and knowledge that Chris brings will enhance our ability to support our clients,&#8221; Berg said.
John Reiss, head of the firm&#8217;s global M&amp;A practice, said Asia is a market with tremendous opportunity as seen in continued expansion of Asian clients globally as well as international clients investing in the region.
&#8220;Chris&#8217; experience and the focus of his practice complements our existing capabilities in the region and his arrival is an important step as we continue to expand our corporate practice in Asia,&#8221; Reiss said.
For the last 12 months, White &amp; Case has strengthened its team of partners such as Peggy Wang, KS Kim and Catherine Tsang and local partners Pradyumna Mysoor and Jonathan Bowden.
