Valar Ventures, a venture capital fund backed by PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, has reached the final close for its latest venture und at $665 million, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission showed.
The New York-based firm, which has backed Indonesian startup BukuWarung and Bangladeshi retail tech startup ShopUp, secured commitments from 121 outside investors for Valar Fund VIII. The fund was launched in January this year.
