Vinmec Healthcare System has launched a nationwide network of high-tech robotic surgery centres, while VinEnergo and SunAsia Energy Inc., a Philippine solar energy company, have announced a strategic partnership to develop a portfolio of large-scale renewable energy projects.

Vinmec launches high-tech robotic surgery network

Vinmec Healthcare System has launched a nationwide network of high-tech robotic surgery centres, becoming the first healthcare provider in Vietnam to set up an integrated robotic surgery ecosystem spanning multiple hospitals and medical specialties.

The network links robotic surgery centres across Vinmec Times City, Smart City, Da Nang, Central Park, Can Tho and other hospitals, with Vinmec Times City serving as the clinical coordination hub. Unlike standalone robotic systems, the platform connects multiple surgical technologies across the network, allowing hospitals to share expertise and standardise clinical practice.

Vinmec has introduced what it describes as Vietnam’s first “3-in-1” robotic surgery model, combining personalised treatment planning through 3D surgical simulation, AI-assisted robotic procedures, and internationally standardised clinical protocols.

In 2020, a consortium led by Singapore sovereign fund GIC acquired a minority stake in Vinmec for 4.7 trillion dong ($203 million).

VinEnergo partners with PH’s SunAsia Energy

VinEnergo, a member of Vingroup’s green energy ecosystem, has partnered with Philippine solar developer SunAsia Energy to jointly develop a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects in the Philippines using the ‘Solar on Stilts’ model.

The projects are expected to generate more than $1.5 billion in lifetime revenue. Three flagship solar farms, with a combined capacity of 422 MWp, are slated to begin operations between 2027 and 2028. They include projects in Pampanga (181 MWp) and Negros Occidental (126 MWp and 115 MWp).

Once completed, the projects are expected to supply electricity to about 278,000 households while reducing annual carbon emissions by more than 460,000 tonnes.

Over the next 18 months, the partners will complete engineering and project development, including the installation of nearly 700,000 solar panels and about 62 km transmission lines across Pampanga and Negros.
