Vietnam&#8217;s state-owned infrastructure company <a href="http://www.vinaconex.com.vn/" target="_blank">Vinaconex Corporation</a> has announced the completion of the process of divestment from its realty arm Vinaconex Real Estate Trading Floor JSC (Vinaconex Real).
The ownership of the company&#8217;s shares in Vinaconex Real Estate Trading Floor JSC (Vinaconex Real) was transferred to a group of investors comprising of the staff of the company. The transaction is a part of the restructuring  process, the group has been engaged in since 2012. The rejig of portfolio includes disengaging from several subsidiaries, so that <a style="color: #0f3647;" href="http://www.vinaconex.com.vn/" target="_blank">Vinaconex</a> can focus on its core business areas.
The divestment that was planned in March earlier this year and involves a share transfer worth $100,000 or 20 billion VND to the investors.
Similar divestment was carried out in January this year, when Vinaconex transferred 100,000 shares ( 5.07% of charter capital)  in the water supply unit Viwapico,which mainly produces PPR pipes and HDPE. Investment portfolio reform was cited as the main reason for this disinvestment.
Vinaconex is a state-owned corporation which founded in 1988, and specialises in construction; infrastructure; water supply and drainage; and import-export of machinery, equipment and materials. Vinaconex manages more than 40 subsidiary companies, employing more than 40,000 skilled personnel.
For the first three quarters of 2014, the total output value of Vinaconex 2014 was $225.8 million (VND 4805.3 billion), equivalent to 83% of the target output (in the shareholders’ annual plan). Total sales were $158.7 million (3376.5 billion VND), of which $6,815,000 was profit-after-tax.
