Vietnam’s biggest listed company <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/vinamilk/">Vinamilk</a> will sell its 3.3 per cent residual stake on November 10, the state shareholder <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/state-capital-investment-corporation">SCIC</a> said on Monday.
This stake is the balance portion from the auction held in December last year.
Details regarding starting price for the sale will be determined and announced after November 1.
Vinamilk’s stock price ended Tuesday’s trade at VND149,100, which translates into a more than $9.5 billion valuation for the firm.
A roadshow to showcase the investment opportunities will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange headquarters on Wednesday, the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) said.
SCIC plans to host roadshows in Hong Kong and Singapore as well, an effort to attract more buyers after last year’s only 5.4 per cent disposal to <a class="tinymce-colortext" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/thaibev/">ThaiBev</a>&#8216;s subsidiary F&amp;N.
Vinamilk has picked UBS AG and Saigon Securities Inc as its advisors for this transaction.
The state investment arm said, it will remove the lengthy procedures for registration and payment, enabling more investors to participate.
SCIC is holding 39 per cent at Vinamilk, while F&amp;N is holding nearly 19 per cent.
Vietnam is also pushing the sell-downs in other state-controlled businesses including the country’s largest brewer <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/sabeco/">Sabeco</a>, which will have to submit its divestment plan by October 20.
