Swedish-based <a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Vostok+New+Ventures" target="_blank">Vostok New Ventures</a>, an investment company listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, <a href="http://www.ewdn.com/2016/08/22/swedish-fund-vostok-new-ventures-injects-2-5-million-in-moscow-based-ota-onetwotrip/" target="_blank">has invested</a> $2.5 million in Moscow-based online travel agency <a href="https://www.onetwotrip.com/en-us/#?deals_from=SIN&amp;deals_to=ANYWHERE&amp;deals_when=CHEAPEST&amp;deals_stay=ANY_STAY" target="_blank">Onetwotrip.com</a>.
This would be the second time the Swedish fund has invested in the Russian company. It first invested $4 million in the Russian OTA in 2015.
Launched in 2011, Onetwotrip uses an intelligent search system for users to determine prices, flight options and routes; statistics of the flight delays for every particular destination/airline; information on airplane model and age as well as on distances between the seats.
It began international expansion in 2013 after the acquisition of US-based Deal Angel, a hotel booking startup and has been gaining traction among investors for quite some time.
In 2012, it raised $9 million from venture capital investment firm Phenomen Ventures and $16 million from <a href="http://www.atomico.com" target="_blank">Atomico</a>.
Then in early 2015, Goldman Sachs invested a further $8 million in the company. By then, Onetwotrip was estimated to be in the &#8220;several hundred of million dollars,&#8221; range according to Russian media reports.
In late December of 2015, the company et its sights to flight metasearch application Corner. Financial details of the acquisition was not revealed but the strategic move was set to seal OneTwoTrip&#8217;s mobile share of sales.
Onetwotrip also had initial public offering (IPO) back in 2014 but the market slowdown deterred those plans.
The company which was initially focused on flight booking has diversified its business to include hotel booking, car rentals and train ticket booking. It&#8217;s services are available both online and via its mobile app in English, German, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian.
Portfolio companies of Vostok New Ventures include online classifieds company <a href="https://www.avito.ru" target="_blank">Avito.ru</a>,  online local search utility <a href="http://www.yell.ru/moscow/" target="_blank">Yell.ru,</a> mobile ordering platform <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Delivery+Hero+" target="_blank">Delivery Hero</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=BlaBlaCar" target="_blank">BlaBlaCar</a>, and Gett.
