Leading telecom operator <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/airtel" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bharti Airtel </a>could revive its plan to sell controlling stake in its tower subsidiary <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/bharti-infratel" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bharti Infratel</a>, according to <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/company/corporate-trends/bharti-airtel-open-to-selling-bigger-chunk-of-tower-arm-bharti-infratel/articleshow/59464290.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a report</a> in The Economic Times citing sources.
Airtel, which was earlier looking to sell controlling stake in Infratel, had shelved its plans in March, and transferred a 21.63 per cent holding to a wholly owned arm, Nettle Infrastructure Investments instead.
The change of plan is likely to have been sparked by an over-26 per cent rise in Infratel’s stock price over the past three months.
The stake sale is seen as a move to pare over $14 billion of debt and release funds for network expansion, said the news report.
<h3>HDFC Property looks to exit The Windflower Resorts</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/hdfc-property" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">HDFC Property Fund </a>is looking to sell its stake in The Windflower Resorts and Spa for about Rs 100 crore for which it is in talks with potential buyers, according to <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/industry/services/hotels-/-restaurants/hdfcs-pe-subsidiary-may-sell-stake-in-windflower-resorts/articleshow/59464668.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a report</a> in The Economic Times quoting sources.
HDFC Property Fund, the private equity arm of HDFC Ltd set up in 2005, had acquired about 20% stake in Windflower Resorts and Spa with an investment of Rs 30-35 crore, said one the sources.
The Bengaluru-based The Windflower Resorts operates a chain of boutique resorts in Puducherry, Coorg, Bengaluru, Vythiri and Bandipur among others, and has plans of expanding to other parts of the country.
“Currently, we are in asset management phase of this investment. As per our underwriting, exit is envisaged through IPO of the company. Currently the company is in its growth phase and acquiring new assets/management contracts to increase the geographical coverage,” and HDFC Property Ventures spokesperson told the newspaper.
