Fundraising by startups in India was at its highest in six quarters in April-June 2021. PE-VC investors poured atleast $9.7 billion across 339 deals in the three months — more than double the funding raised in Q1 2021.
There were 26 mega deals in the quarter, raising a cumulative $6.8 billion. In comparison, there were only 13 mega deals in the first quarter of the year.
The rosy numbers in Q2 lifted the overall fundraising figures for H1 2021. In the first half of 2021 investments in startups soared 164% year-on-year to $14.3 billion.
