Southeast Asia’s startups raised a record $6 billion in the first quarter of 2021 as an accelerated digitalisation drive and gradual easing of pandemic-related restrictions shored up investor confidence.
Deal value in Q1 was propped up by two mega deals worth $2 billion each. Excluding these deals, there was still a significant uptick in deal count and value during the quarter.
