Fundnel has secured a provisional CMS license from MAS and Japan&#8217;s Senjo Group has relocated its global headquarters to Singapore.

<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/fundnel" target="_blank"> Fundnel Limited</a>, a Singapore-headquartered private investment platform, has received a provisional Capital Markets Services (CMS) licence from the <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/mas" target="_blank">Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)</a>. 
This licence issuance is the first by MAS to any other private investing platform post the latest consideration to introduce a new licensing regime to safeguard investors’ interests.
The CMS licence empowers Fundnel to market its equity crowdfunding platform and deal in securities under Singapore’s Securities and Futures Act (CAP.289). 
Fundnel is intended to be a platform that allows entrepreneurs to tap on a network of international investors and potential partners, with a regional approach &#8211; facilitating diverse investment opportunities 

Commenting on the award of the CMS licence, Kelvin Lee, CEO and Co-Founder of Fundnel said, “Receiving this endorsement from MAS marks a new milestone on our corporate journey as we celebrate our first year anniversary this month.&#8221;

In an official statement, Lee observed that it was necessary to stay ahead of the cure and differentiate themselves through their investment offerings.
The company has reported that it closed 15 deals over the last 12 months, posting a total fundraise of US$44 million to date with a  steady pipeline of investment deals.
Fundnel enters an intensely competitive pace, competing with other peer to business (P2B) investment platforms in the crowdfunding space such as <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/crowdo" target="_blank">Crowdo</a> and UOB-backed Israeli crowdfunding platform <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/ourcowd" target="_blank">OurCrowd</a>.
Currently, many crowdfunding platforms suffer from a deficit in the form of a content engine that can facilitate acquisition and engagement with investor awareness and education, as well as highlighting deals. While platforms like <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/coassets" target="_blank">CoAssets</a> has achieved this in part through its EPIC conferences, this could potentially be mitigated through strategic partnerships and alliances with media brands in the future.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Senjo Group launches new global HQ</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://senjogroup.com/" target="_blank">Senjō Group</a>, a privately held fintech investment firm has launches its new global headquarters in Singapore, having leased the entire 56th floor of One Raffles Place in Singapore’s Central Business District.
Established in 2015, Senjō Group was first set up as a holding company for a portfolio of payments and financial technology companies with operations spanning Asia, Europe, North America and Africa.
It invests in both startups and established companies that are profitable and scalable, as well as partnering with companies who are looking to benefit from its global footprint, financial support and operational expertise. Senjō aims to increase its portfolio significantly over the coming years.
This growing portfolio of companies operate across payments processing, cross-border remittance, foreign exchange, trade finance, e-commerce, mobile payments, commodity trading and factoring – functions split between Senjō’s core business units: Payments, Commerce, Ventures, Trading and Finance.

In addition to the new Singapore headquarters, Senjō also has regional offices in Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Luxembourg and the UK, and operations in most major markets.
