Tech firm Happiest Minds has acquired Cupola Technology, while startups ION Energy and Invoice Bazaar have raised funds.
<h3>Happiest Minds acquires specialised IoT company Cupola Technology</h3>
Bengaluru-based technology firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/happiest-minds" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Happiest Minds Technologies</a> has acquired specialised IoT(internet of things) services company Cupola Technology for an undisclosed amount.
“We have found that organizations are rapidly moving from proof of concept to enterprise wide IoT rollouts. This has brought about the need for a dedicated IoT operations center with a solution centric approach. The acquisition of Cupola will add to our IoT center of excellence with a like-minded team that is focused towards driving customer value” said Sashi Kumar, CEO &amp; MD of Happiest Minds Technologies.
Founded in 2011, by Ajay Agrawal and Huzefa Saifee, Cupola&#8217;s 100-memeber team will join Happiest Minds.
<h3>ION Energy raises angel round of funding</h3>
Technology startup ION Energy has raised an angel round of funding from Sushil Jiwarajka, Chairman of OMC Power and Founder of Nippo Batteries; Aakrit Vaish &amp; Swapan Rajdev, Founders of Haptik and executives from Times Internet, Dentsu Aegis, Salesforce and Credit Suisse.
Mumbai-based ION Energy, founded by Akhil Aryan, is building a layer of infrastructure to enable the adoption of electric vehicles in India. The company leverages proprietary enhancements to the Lithium-Ion technology to deliver high performance energy storage systems.
These plug &amp; play batteries are made available exclusively to their anchor partner OEMs and reduce 40-45 per cent upfront costs to their end customers.
The undisclosed amount of funds will be used towards product development and bringing the technology closer to mass manufacturing.
<h3>Invoice Bazaar gets investment from former Citigroup CEO</h3>
UAE-based fintech startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/invoice-bazaar" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Invoice Bazaar</a>, has raised an undisclosed amount of investment from Shirish Apte, former CEO and Chairman Asia Pacific of Citigroup.
Founded last year, Invoice Bazaar Supply Chain Finance platform connects large buyers with SME suppliers which help them to avail early payment on their receivables. Based in UAE, the company has now expanded to Singapore and India.
“The business model of Invoice Bazaar is compelling as it complements banks’ offerings rather than trying to compete with banks. The marriage of Banks with FinTech startups in my opinion is the model of the future,” said Apte who also joins the advisory board of Invoice Bazaar as part of the deal.
Last year the company had raised Advance Global Capital, which had commited AED 4 million ($1.1 million) in capital as the first tranche towards purchase of receivables mainly targeted towards the SME segment.
