Ambit Global Private Client (Ambit GPC), the wealth management arm of financial services group Ambit, has completed the final close of Poonawalla Vision Fund I at Rs 1,000 crore ($114 million), according to an announcement.
Ambit GPC is the investment manager of the growth-stage-focused fund set up by the Poonawalla family, which runs vaccine maker Serum Institute of India.
Ambit GPC ’s earlier investments of Rs 6,765 crore, which are currently tracking a value of Rs 22,000 crore (58% IRR and 3.23x MoIC), resulted in an exclusive mandate from the Poonawalla Family to launch Poonawalla Vision Fund I in 2023 under a Category II AIF structure, it said in a statement.
The fund initially raised Rs 500 crore and invested the capital across eight portfolio companies. It was opened to external investors in Q4 2025 and reached its final size of Rs 1,000 crore after being oversubscribed within three weeks.
“The speed and quality of this fundraise are a strong endorsement of our investment philosophy, our proprietary sourcing capabilities and our disciplined execution,” said Amrita Farmahan, Chief Executive Officer, Ambit GPC.
“We look forward to deploying this capital with focus and partnering with founders to help build enduring, category-defining businesses,” he added.
Ambit GPC operates in India’s private markets, working with HNI and UHNW individuals, families and institutions. The firm provides wealth management and investment services across portfolio management, private markets, alternatives, global investing and capital markets, with operations in India and Dubai.
