Singapore continues to lead deal activity in Southeast Asian region, which has recorded a consolidated transaction value (including M&A, IPO and private equity funding) of over $130 billion spread across 1420 deals, with over 20 transactions valued at more than a billion dollars each, in 2017. Malaysia saw robust activity while transaction activity in Indonesia’s burgeoning economy remained stable.
Globally, about 36,700 deals valued at over $2.8 trillion were registered in the same period, according to key findings from the M&A publication, Transaction Trail Annual Report 2017, compiled by Duff & Phelps, an international global valuation and corporate finance advisor.
