Toronto-based Sysomos, a social intelligence company, has acquired Delhi-based image recognition and machine learning platform gazeMetrix to help brands and agencies capitalise on the opportunity presented by the visual social web, Sysomos said in a statement. The deal size, however, remains undisclosed.

Launched through 500 Startups, gazeMetrix provides visual analytics in social media using algorithms and a proprietary virality detection method. It was also part of Microsoft Ventures’s Spring 2015 accelerator batch. It had received a total funding of about $140,000 from 500 Startups and other angel investors prior to the acquisition.
