Taiwan’s Cathay Life commits $57m to Permira’s latest buyout fund

Cathay Life Insurance, the insurance subsidiary of Taiwanese conglomerate Cathay Financial Holdings, has committed €50 million ($56.6 million) to the latest buyout fund of global private equity firm Permira.

In a stock exchange filing, Cathay Financial said its insurance unit is taking a 0.33% stake in Permira VIII, which reportedly aims to raise $15 billion in capital commitments.
