China Deal Review: Big-ticket transactions buoy July tally as startups raise $4b

Deal-making activity in China has been on a general upward trend so far this year. In July, too, there were substantial month-on-month gains in both deal count and value.

Chinese startups secured almost $4.08 billion across 116 venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) transactions in July, according to proprietary data compiled by DealStreetAsia. That marks a 57 per cent month-on-month surge in the number of deals and a 40 per cent increase in total funds raised. Of the 116 deals, financial details of 14 transactions were undisclosed.
