British health tech AI start-up Medopad raised $28 million in a Series A funding round backed by Hong Kong-listed conglomerate NWS Holdings Limited (NWS) and a number of global family offices and institutional investors, the company said on its website.

The Series A news followed the announcement of a spate of China trade deals worth more than £100m ($140 million) that Medopad signed with partners, including Tencent, during UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s recent meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
