Indonesia’s financial landscape, which has evolved considerably over the past decade with the government’s push towards digitalisation, is expected to change further as new initiatives such as cross-border QR payment linkage and fast payment infrastructure BI Fast provide fresh impetus to its booming fintech sector.
The integrated payment network will help businesses in the five Southeast Asian member countries reach newer consumer markets more quickly and effectively, said Nabilah Alsagoff, chief operating officer at online payment gateway firm DOKU, which also has a remittance service. “For DOKU, the unified QR code provides a smoother and more flexible cross-border transaction experience for merchants and consumers of DOKU merchants,” she said.
