Fenox Venture Capital, a Silicon Valley based venture capital firm with deep interest in the southeast Asian region, has clocked some 60 investments in Asia with 16 coming from Indonesia. The VC firm, which has invested in Hijup, a Muslim fashion e-commerce platform, is looking at pouring in $80 million in startups globally in this year, Anis Uzzaman, general partner and founding member, Fenox, said in an interaction. The Valley VC, with offices across US, Japan and Southeast Asia, typically invests in the range of $250,000 to $10 million in a potential investee. Its other southeast Asia portfolio companies include Talenta, Bride Story, Alodokter, 99.co, i Money.my. Recently, Fenox joined forces with Japanese IT company Infocom Corporation to launch GnB Accelerator programme, with an aim to develop the startup ecosystem in Indonesia. Edited excerpts:-
Could you elaborate on the GnB programme?
Under the GnB accelerator programme, we will offer six startups mentorship, training and $50,000 each. We expect some startups in South East Asia to join this incubation programme in Jakarta.
