South-east Asian video story telling platform TADOtv has secured seed funding in a round led by Insignia Ventures Partners, founder Steven Koesno told DEALSTREETASIA in an exclusive interaction.
The just-launched startup is simultaneously also on the road to raise a new round. Tadotv&#8217;s existing investors include Merah Putih, Stellar Kapital, Prasetia Dwidharma, Benson Capital and Everhaus.
TADOtv is a video story telling platform that serves interactive films. “It is similar to Netflix’s Blackmirror and Bandersnatch in the US where users can decide their own story line. We film local influencers in short vertical or portrait video format,”  Koesno said.
He further elaborates that “content is the main driver for both short-term and long-term goals. We will focus on building in-house content and acquiring movies from others. However, long term we will allow content creators to work with us to create their own movies in our platform”.
Koesno claims the platform had received good response from users within the short span of its launch. “We went to trending page on Google Playstore on second day of launch with marketing almost to 0$ and we see really high engagement of users in our apps 7x more intense and longer than our previous apps,” he says.
TadoTV is co-founded by Steven Koesno, Dominik Laurus and Gema Megantara.
Insignia Ventures Partners, the Singapore-based firm led by former Sequoia veteran Yinglan Tan, recently joined a six-figure funding round in Finhay, a Vietnam-based company that allows users to invest their idle money in open-ended funds.
Among its recent investments include a pre-Series A round in Indian online investment platform Groww and a $2.2-million financing for Indonesian platform Ajaib.
