Chinese silicon wafer maker GCL Semiconductor closes $157m Series A round

GCL Semiconductor, a Chinese developer of silicon materials used for integrated circuit (IC) production, has raised over 1 billion yuan ($156.9 million) in a Series A round from a group of domestic investors.

GCL Semiconductor, the subsidiary of GCL Group, secured funding from Chinese investment companies such as Yijing Capital, Cindafund Investment, and Stony Creek Capital.
