Hospital chain Columbia Asia raises $101m from Tokyo-based Mitsui

Columbia Asia, one of Asia’s leading hospital chains with hospitals across India and Southeast Asia, on Wednesday said it has raised $101 million in investment from Tokyo-based trading and investment firm Mitsui & Co., Ltd to set up more hospitals and fund ongoing projects.

Columbia Asia, owned by Seattle-based Columbia Pacific Management Inc., has 27 hospitals and one clinic across India, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia, with a business model focused on serving Asia’s rapidly growing middle class with modern and efficient multispecialty hospitals located close to where patients live and work.
