<a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=dsg" target="_blank">DSG Consumer Partners</a>, Avala Capital, Delivery Hero co-founder Nikita Fahrenholz and former MD of Airbnb India and Middle East Mohit Srivastava also participated in the round.
The company will use the funding for product enhancements and phase two of its expansion to other European countries.
“The Airbnb economy has created a new opportunity for property owners to offer their homes as hosts. Hostmaker understands the needs of the hosts and guests and have developed a portfolio of products that helps hosts optimise yield and occupancy to maximise revenue whilst always ensuring that the guests have a wonderful stay,&#8221; said Deepak Shahdadpuri, MD, DSG COnsumer Partners.
Founded by Nakul Sharma in December 2013, Hostmaker serves Airbnb management services to Airbnb hosts and other homeowners in London, Barcelona and Rome. Currently, it claims to be serving about 5000 guests every month.
Prior to founding this venture, Sharma worked with Airbnb and has worked with hospitality majors like InterContinental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels &amp; Resorts Worldwide and others. He did his MBA in marketing and strategy from INSEAD.
The company provides two options &#8211; a flat-fee pay-as-you-go model, where existing Airbnb hosts can pick a premium hotel-style housekeeping and linen service and the other option involves the setting up of the listing, responding to enquiries promptly, setting prices and managing yield, presentation of the home before the guest arrives and managing the guest experience.
“We are focused on becoming the leader in the segment in Europe and are pleased with the positive reaction to our services in London, Barcelona and Rome. We have also started thinking about Asia where Airbnb is experiencing rapid growth and are pleased to have DSG Consumer Partners on board as an investor. DSG has significant experience working with hospitality business in the region including hotel aggregator <a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=oyo" target="_blank">OYO Rooms</a>, online travel agent <a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Cleartrip" target="_blank">Cleartrip</a> and Sula Wines&#8221;,” Sharma further said.
DSG Consumer Partners, an investment company, provides funding to early stage consumer businesses in India and South East Asia. Some of its investment include in the companies like Veeba Foods, Mswipe, IndiaLends, EazyDiner and many others.
