Under scrutiny for alleged financial discrepancies at Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd (IL&FS), auditors Deloitte Haskins and Sells, and BSR and Co. are being probed by as many as half a dozen investigative and regulatory agencies in India.
The role of the two auditors came under the scanner after a debt crisis unfolded at the financial giant last September. The investigative authorities were quick to question the auditors in an attempt to unearth the layers of alleged discrepancies.
