Automotive technology startup Smart Auto Systems has raised $3 million from Mitsui &amp; Co while online interior design company Design Cafe has raised funding led by Fireside Ventures.

Hyderabad-based automotive technology startup Smart Auto Systems has raised around Rs 20 crore from Japanese firm Mitsui &amp; Co, part of the <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/mitsui" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mitsui Group</a>, said <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://epaperbeta.timesofindia.com/index.aspx?eid=31815&amp;dt=20170710" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a report</a> in The Economic Times quoting sources.
According to one of the sources, this is the first round of external funding in the company, which has been bootstrapped since it was formed in 2015.
The company plans to use the funds to further build out its technology platform, and expand its geographical presence.
The transaction was completed a couple of months ago and three members of the strategic investor joined Smart Auto Systems&#8217; board of directors, said the report quoting documents filed with the RoC.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Design Cafe raises funding round led by Fireside Ventures</h3>
Online interior design company Design Cafe has raised an undisclosed amount in a funding round led by early-stage venture capital firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/fireside-ventures" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Fireside Ventures</a>.
According to <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://epaperbeta.timesofindia.com/index.aspx?eid=31815&amp;dt=20170710" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a report</a> in The Economic Times, other investors in the round include Apurva Salarpuria, founder of Salarpuria Group of Companies, angel investor Sidharth Pansari and micro venture capital fund Sprout Capital.
This is the second round of funding in the last 18 months for the Bengaluru based firm. It plans to use the funds to expand its operations beyond Bengaluru to other cities, including Mumbai and Delhi.
