Nazara Technologies has acquired UK-based gaming studio Fusebox Games, while Fortis Healthcare is close to buying an additional 34% stake in its diagnostics arm.
Nazara Technologies buys Fusebox Games
Indian gaming company Nazara Technologies has acquired UK-based gaming studio Fusebox Games for Rs 228 crore ($27.2 million).
“We see a large opportunity in building an IP-based global gaming business that benefits from our core base in India where we can support global studios through enhanced user acquisition strategies, data analytics, live operations, and new initiatives such as implementing our in-house AI playbook,” said Nitish Mittersain, founder & CEO of Nazara.
Fusebox, which makes story-based games like ‘Love Island’, reported a revenue of Rs 87.5 crore in 2023.
The acquisition comes a month after Nazara announced the acquisition of an additional 48.42% stake in Paper Boat Apps for Rs 300 crore.
Fortis to buy another 34% stake in Agilus
Fortis Healthcare is close to acquiring the 34% stake held by private equity (PE) firms Jacob Ballas and International Finance Corporation in its diagnostics arm Agilus (earlier called SRL), stated a report by The Economic Times.
The move comes as the investors look to sell their stake by exercising a put option, the report further stated, quoting sources.
The transaction is understood to be pegging the valuation of Agilus diagnostics at Rs 5,000 crore.
Agilus Diagnostics, a subsidiary of Fortis, has an extensive diagnostics network in India spread across 25 states and five union territories covering over 1,000 towns and cities and over 532 districts, as of March 31, 2023.
