Travel technology startup Guiddoo has raised fresh funding to expand into China, while Lightbox and Kae Capital have invested in female care brand Nua. Also, Times Bridge has partnered with and made a strategic investment in Wattpad.
<h3>Guiddoo raises funds from SOSV, Artesian</h3>
Travel technology startup <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/guiddoo" rel="noopener">Guiddoo</a> has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from US-based venture capital fund SOSV and Artesian China fund.
According to an official statement, the funding will be used to build its products and offerings for the China market as part of the Chinaccelerator Program. Guiddoo currently offers its services across 15  international destinations. The startup also plans to add new destinations in West Asia and Africa to its portfolio.
In 2017, Guiddoo raised $300,000 followed by a pre-Series A round of funding of $800,000 in December 2018 from global investors.
&#8220;China is a potential market for us, and this investment will give us the wings to fly higher. We are delighted to have secured funding as well as a strong partner in China this time around that will help us expand our reach, acquire the right talent and augment our portfolio in the China market,&#8221; said co-founder and CEO Vineet Budki.
<h3>Lightbox, Kae Capital invest $4m in Nua</h3>
Female wellness brand Nua has raised $4 million in a Series A round from venture capital firm Lightbox and existing investor Kae Capital.
According to a Business Standard <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/venture-capital-firm-lightbox-invests-4-mn-in-female-wellness-startup-nua-119031300075_1.html" rel="noopener">report</a>, this marks the first investment by Lightbox from its $200-million third fund. Nua, operated by Lagom Labs, makes sanitary pads and sells them online.
This latest funding will help the company make investments in technology and data as well as expand its product offerings.
<h3>Times Bridge makes strategic investment in Wattpad</h3>
Times Bridge, the global investments and partnerships arm of The Times Group, has announced a strategic investment in Canada-based global multi-platform entertainment company Wattpad.
Times Bridge said it will help Wattpad grow its community of readers and writers and establish new strategic partnerships in India. It would also create opportunities for Wattpad Studios to work with local partners to turn Wattpad stories into books, TV shows, films, and digital projects, according to a press release.
&#8220;Times Bridge and The Times Group have an unmatched media and entertainment portfolio, and connections with some of India’s most-respected authors and cultural figures. We’re excited to work together to create new opportunities for Indian storytellers,” said Devashish Sharma, who was recently appointed the country manager for India by Wattpad.
