Venture capital firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/ivycap" target="_blank">IvyCap Ventures</a> has invested $4 million in <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/rml-agtech" target="_blank">RML AgTech</a>, a technology company providing &#8216;Agri Decision Support Solution’ on mobile phones to farmers.
The funds were raised in multiple tranches from IvyCap Ventures in 2016, the company said in a release.
RML AgTech provides end-to-end agriculture solutions to farmers on smart phones through its app. It offers app-based solutions for every stage of farming, starting from soil testing, what to grow, how to grow, where and when to sell for agriculturists
The Mumbai-based startup plans to use the funds to strengthen its backend technology and to bring in new products and features on its current offerings.
&#8220;The agriculture sector in India today stands at an inflection point where food security for future India will be determined. And it is the agri-tech sector that has the potential to address the challenges we face today. We found the product and strategy model of RML AgTech to principally to address these concerns and hence a huge potential for the time to come,” said Vikram Gupta, Founder &amp; Managing Partner, IvyCap Ventures.
IvyCap Ventures, which is on the verge of closing its second fund at $44 million, has invested in three other companies FastBob, GrabOnRent and FTCash from its new fund.
RML AgTech claims to work with3.5 million farmers across 16 states including Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.  It plans to expand its services to more states like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
