Singapore-based private equity firm Leonie Hill Capital will be contributing half the amount for the $60 million fund it set up with Japan’s sovereign patent fund IP Bridge, to invest in Southeast Asian and global startups with original intellectual property (IP) in the technology space, a top executive with the firms said.

While the Japanese government backed IP Bridge fund with other limited partners has already allotted $30 million for the fund, Leonie Hill’s family trust will invest its share of $30 million even as the structure for the fund is currently being worked out, an executive in knowledge of the fund told DEALSTREETASIA recently.
