Jakarta-based robo trading platform Lubna.io has secured an undisclosed amount of seed funding from venture capital firm East Ventures, according to a statement.
The fresh funding will be used for product development and hiring a team of analysts.
Lubna.io, which caters to both professional and novice traders, uses advanced algorithm system that analyses the fundamental and technical data of transactions.
The system also helps retail investors to trade across multiple assets including cryptocurrency, forex, and commodities.
The idea of creating Lubna.io came about when the founder, Kevin Cahya, was juggling with having a full-time job at East Ventures while managing its multiple financial assets in 2015.
“It’s almost impossible for retail investors who have a full-time job to achieve maximum profit as we are unable to monitor our portfolios all the time. I see many retail investors, especially novices, having difficulties to achieve positive returns due to the lack of exposure and knowledge in investment. Robo trading is what we see as the solution,” Kevin said in a statement.
Novice investors can automate trading activities using the bot&#8217;s features. For professional traders, the system enables them to automatically activate the trading strategies.
“Lubna is at a great position to accelerate the participation of young population to invest, and its vision to assist users to trade with ease will be a key advantage for Lubna to be the first successful crypto robo-trading in the region,” said Melisa Irene, a Partner at East Ventures.
East Ventures is specialised in investing capital in the early-stage startups. The firm also co-manages a growth stage fund with SMDV, and Yahoo! Japan Capital dubbed as EV Growth.
