Partners Group hires Leonard Green’s Zippelius as co-head of health, life PE unit

Global private investment firm Partners Group has announced the appointment of healthcare investor Pete Zippelius from Leonard Green & Partners as co-head of its private equity health and life business.

Zippelius, who will join in September and be based at the firm’s U.S. headquarters, will share the role with Benjamin Breier, according to a company statement.

He will oversee new deals and portfolio value-creation efforts across health and life sciences.

Before joining Partners Group, Zippelius was an investment partner at Leonard Green, where he helped lead $8 billion of equity investments in healthcare and life sciences.

He earlier held senior healthcare investment banking roles at JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, and Morgan Stanley.

The move comes as Partners Group, which manages more than $185 billion globally, continues to build out specialist leadership across its private equity franchise.

The firm recently named new co-heads for its technology and goods and products verticals. Its private equity arm oversees $86 billion in assets, while its health and life strategy has invested about $13.2 billion to date.

“Our thematic research continues to identify compelling opportunities driven by demographic trends, innovation, and healthcare system transformation, and Pete will play a key role in further strengthening our Health & Life platform globally,” said Wolf Scheider, head of Private Equity at Partners Group.

Aura Group appoints Burgmann as wealth management director

Singapore-headquartered investment firm Aura Group has appointed Jamie Burgmann as a director in its wealth management division, according to an announcement.

Burgmann brings more than 15 years of experience advising private clients in the two markets, including a stint at Macquarie Private Bank, where he focused on multi-jurisdictional financial structures and internationally diversified portfolios.

At Aura, Burgmann will advise high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth strategies spanning alternative assets, such as private credit, venture capital, private equity, as well as legacy planning, per the announcement.

The appointment comes as private banks and wealth managers across Asia-Pacific compete to serve richer clients whose assets, businesses, and family structures increasingly span several jurisdictions.

Aura executive Tong Hoe Sng said Burgmann’s experience in Australia and Singapore would strengthen the firm’s ability to advise clients with more complex portfolios and broader access to private markets.

Aura Group, founded in Sydney in 2008, is an alternative funds and asset management platform with operations across Australia and Southeast Asia. It manages more than A$1.3 billion in funds.
