PE firms eye Southeast Asian assets as global outlook dims

After record private equity fundraising in 2021, investor interest in Southeast Asia is likely to pick up as the region benefits from strong fundamentals amid diminishing policy support, lingering supply bottlenecks and rising geopolitical risks across the globe.

Even before Russia’s Ukraine invasion last month, the World Bank had said that the global economy was clouded by various downside risks, including new virus variants, unanchored inflation expectations and financial stress.
