Valar Ventures, a venture capital fund backed by PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, has led the $20-million Series A funding round of Middle East-based commission-free investing platform baraka, according to an announcement.
The funding round, which was also participated by global investment firm Knollwood, marks Valar’s first entry in the Middle East. baraka said it will allocate majority of the money raised for regional licensing and expansion.
