Gurgaon-based BEBB India Pvt Ltd, which runs <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.power2sme.com/" target="_blank">Power2SME</a>, has raised around Rs 140 crore ($20.7 million) from Nandan Nilekani, the former CEO and co-founder of IT company Infosys.
Existing investors <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=accel" target="_blank">Accel Partners</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=kalaari" target="_blank">Kalaari Capital</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=inventus" target="_blank">Inventus Capital</a> participated in the round. These three investors had put in Rs 42 crore together in the company&#8217;s Series C round of funding in Sept 2014.
Power2SME, an online hub, aggregates raw material demands of small and medium sized enterprises and services (SMEs). The company was started in Jan 2012 by R. Narayan with a seed funding of Rs 2 crore. Besides Gurgaon, the company has office in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Pune.
It claims to have more than 30,000 SMEs on the platform.
In Oct 2012, Power2SME raised Rs 10 crore Series A round of funding from Inventus Capital Partners and Kalaari Capital. In April 2013, the company received Rs 35.7 crore in Series B from Inventus, Kalaari and Accel.
Nilekani, the former UIDAI chairman, has also backed mobile balance tracking startup Mubble and mobile publishing startup Juggernaut.
