Q Investment Partners bets on cash-on-cash return in Japanese housing market

Private equity real estate boutique investment firm Q Investment Partners is banking on the stability and income yield of the Japanese residential real estate market, even as the Asian country draws hefty investments from global institutional investors.

QIP’s co-founder and CEO Peter Young told DealStreetAsia in an interview: “With a strong rental base, a strong supply, demand [and] occupancy, you’re really taking a very attractive cash-on-cash return… due to the nature of the asset class, the nature of the capital markets and the sheer demand of capital going into the Japan multifamily [sector].”
