Rhode Island commits $16m to GGV Capital’s new venture funds

Rhode Island State Investment Commission has approved a total of $16 million in commitments to the new funds of global venture capital firm GGV Capital, according to the pension fund manager’s meeting document.

The pension manager is committing up to $6.4 million to GGV Capital IX, $1.6 million to GGV Capital IX Plus, and $7 million to GGV Discovery IV-US. It was also agreed that the Rhode Island OPEB System Trust will commit up to $800,000 to GGV Capital IX and $200,000 to GGV Capital IX Plus.
